The end of Private Health Insurance?

Take a look at this recent Wall Street Journal Article and learn more about the facts faced in Congress regarding the debate on the future of government run and financed (through our tax dollars) health care. It is a very compelling article that those of us who appreciate having choice, should really read.

  1. It seems to me that Private Health Insurance is a necessary evil to protect the integrity of the system here in the US. Many other countries with socialized systems are in disarray, and what we as Americans are fortunate to have must be maintained. But, this pre-existing condition stuff, and denials of coverge because of being a diabetic for example must stop. Rumor has it all health insurance carriers now that their feet have been held to the fire are quick to explain that they can take "anyone" who applies and can make it affordable for everyone.

Funny how a little talk of killing the private system and everyone associated with it, gets greedy, profit rich health insurance carriers to wake up. Maybe the carriers should all be mandatory non-profit status, and have them give away the farm? Interested in any more dialogue on what might happen as I am sure a compromise of some sort must be on its way.
